During a 20 year career in both the public and private sectors I have gained extensive experience of data protection, GDPR, developing and implementing policies and procedures, governance and risk management, financial management, compliance, internal and external auditing, project management, stakeholder management, developing and leading high performing teams, problem solving, report writing, quality assurance and inspections. I have considerable experience of training and development at all levels within organisations and across a number of different disciplines. I am a freelance trainer for BPP delivering courses on AI and information technology, I am a data privacy content writer for Data Camp, and I have delivered CIPP/E and CIPM exam preparation courses.My main area of academic interest is Leadership and Management and this formed the basis for both of my Masters degrees and my doctoral thesis.I am also particularly interested in ethics, cloud technology and Artificial Intelligence and I am a certified instructor for CertNexus, who specialise in emerging technology certifications, and TRECCERT.In addition to my professional work, I volunteer as the Data Protection Officer for the Cyber Helpline and previously as the Chair of Governors at a local Primary School. I am a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and The Charted Institute for IT (BCS).
