The internship at Autokaste Ltd was an opportunity to learn the processes and techniques involved in the casting process.As an engineering student who only knows the theory related to the casting process, this internship acted like a bridge that gave me exposure to the real production sector.The internship made me aware of the importance of the R & D department, the ability to understand 3D drawings, and GD & T. Also the importance of simulation software which can save huge margins of time and money by predicting the errors and malfunctions that can occur.The internship provided familiarity with the types of sands, patterns, cores, match plates, and several other things related to the casting industry.Another important section was the lab where the quality of raw materials was inspection.
