Some of my key responsibilities as the display manager of one of the UK's leading firework companies include the design, fusing, logistic, set up and firing aspects of firing small and large scale firework displays both in the UK and internationally.I form part of a team of firework technicians that have won awards on multiple occasions for the design and execution of firework displays in the UK and abroad. In 2005 and 2011 MLE Pyrotechnics were awarded 1st place on both occasions at the British firework championships. MLE Pyrotechnics has also been awarded 1st 2nd and 3rd places at prestigious international competitions respectively.As a company MLE Pyrotechnics runs a series of firework competition style events around the UK. At these events, three other firework companies from the UK are invited to compete against each other and showcase their work. As the organisers of the event MLE Pyrotechnics fire a display to end the evening and close the event. My job here is to organise and brief a team of technicians and to oversee the setup process of the MLE closing firework display. I oversee the checking and testing of the sound and firework continuity tests that are performed by the firework teams. I also work hard to ensure that the firing of the competition displays meets the strict deadlines that are put into place.Most recently I am proud to have been responsible for the firework design of some of the closing displays at the Firework Champions events

In 2008, I approached MLE about becoming a volunteer in order to pursue a childhood dream. To gain some experience, I went along to a few of the displays that MLE were doing around the country as a spectator. After going through a very thorough and strict training regime, I began to take a more advanced role at these displays. Before long I was involved in the day to day processing of category 4 firework orders and the picking and fusing of some of the displays that MLE produce all year round.In February 2011, I was delighted to be offered a full-time position at MLE.
