I lead a team to develop and execute a public-benefit portfolio of research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) projects to support safe, reliable, cost-effective implementation of energy storage and (fueled) distributed generation to support electric power systems. I am responsible for portfolio development, funding, execution, and transfer of research to utilities, regulators, industry, and the general public. Our research covers investigation, economics, power system analysis, testing, and demonstration of new technology across all sizes and uses of energy storage.Our team works to support to support common understanding of energy storage definitions and requirements through the Energy Storage Integration Council's (ESIC) publicly available products (www.epri.com/esic).
