• Develop and implement projects targeted at building the strategic capacity of sporting organisations at all levels, working with key stakeholders including state departments of sports and recreation, volunteer organisations, educational institutions and sporting organisations at all levels;• Provide leadership and technical expertise to National and State Sporting Organisations in the development and implementation of participation, governance and business capability initiatives;• Assist in identifying projects targeted at capacity building in sports and drive their implementation as part of strategic goals;• Administration of grants and scholarship programs; • Promote case studies and the evidence base derived from workforce development projects to internal and external stakeholders.Highlights:• Management of joint project with Equestrian Australia (EA) concerning a review of education pathways and the business concerns that influence this system, including managing the unique stakeholders of a personal business-model-driven system. The central focus of this project was the largest review of a coaching and officiating system performed by the ASC; with one major recommendation being that EA adopt a revolutionary model of sports education modularised offerings;• Management of the world-leading National Officiating Scholarships program. Role includes the coordination of workshops for elite-level officials and their mentors; including strategic educational planning, logistics, guest speakers and specialists;• Constitutional, governance, policy, strategic planning, by-law review and critique of national sports organisations including Swimming, Rugby League, Sailing, Bowls, Judo, Taekwondo, Athletics, Little Athletics, Canoeing, Archery, Skate, Cycling and Touch Football.

Specific duties included regulations and by-laws creation and management, draw management and manipulation, referee management, results management, tribunal proceedings, stakeholder management, payroll for referees/ground staff;• Administration of high performance pathways with roles including similar duties to domestic role above, however also included stakeholder management with Clubs, sponsor integration and management, and expansion modelling;• Tour management of ACT teams at national tournaments, including open and under age variations;• Myriad roles within Australian National Touch League as part of Touch Football Australia ground and event management staff; • Staff management (2 internal staff, 2 unpaid intern students, many multitudes as referee manager);• Stakeholder management (clubs, sponsors, local government); • Referee development and management;• Budget management of $400,000 annually.Highlights:• Growth of 16% each year sustained over 3 years in domestic (commercial) competitions;• Regional strategic expansion in ACT elite competitions which led to a growth of 50% in club numbers;• Overhaul of Referee system to encourage a community atmosphere to drive recruitment and retention. Inclusions were introducing a 3 year referee development, recruitment and retention plan, a Referee Advisory Panel to replace the ACT Referees Association, a gala dinner at the end of the season and professional development opportunities;• Strategic expansion of ACT domestic commercial competitions into regions of Canberra with the most growth potential to create ownership of the region and grounds (premium use) resulting in a monopoly share in the social sports area.
