I am a highly motivated graduate who has recently completed a MSci Hons in Mathematics from Lancaster University, finishing with an upper second. The nature of my course has led me to tackle problems with a highly analytical approach. I have always had a flair for mathematics, and I revel in finding creative, original solutions to tough problems. I have excellent interpersonal skills and work well within a team. After 4 years in the Lancaster Ultimate Frisbee club, I have been elected into two positions in the Executive; Social Secretary in my second year and Publicity Officer in my final year. In addition to the responsibilities that come with the respective roles, I attended and contributed towards weekly Executive meetings. In these, we discussed the various future plans and opportunities for the club, as well as addressing any issues that came about. This requires good communication and the ability to express ideas in a persuasive manner within a group atmosphere, as well as listening to other people’s opinions to compile a solution as smoothly as possible. Also, since complications can arise last minute, it is essential to work efficiently with others even under a tight deadline. Such skills have indeed proved invaluable and I am subsequently seen as a respected committee member, demonstrated by the fact I was re-elected onto the Club.
