Investigate complaints of alleged violations of Florida statutes and Board rules involving professionals under the jurisdiction of the Department of Health. Investigations include interviewing source, subject, and appropriate witnesses. Reviews Florida Statutes and Administrative codes, court records, medical records, and other essential documents. Conducts audits and inspections.Prepares comprehensive chronological reports of final, supplemental, and probation reports. Serve as a field-training officer as necessary.Conduct regulatory inspections of licensed health care facilities and establishments; maintaining a specified average of inspections (per month) involving licensed (pharmacies, physicians' offices, and dental laboratories) facilities/establishments. Coordinate with federal [Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)], state [Medicaid Fraud Unit, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)], and local (police departments, sheriff’s offices) and health care practitioners. Conduct supplemental and probation investigations including coordination with impairment program staff. Enforces the terms of Disciplinary Enforcement Requests and cooperates with Board staff members.

Examining, evaluating, inspecting, monitoring and/or investigating eligibility and/or conformity with law and regulations governing legal compliance of licenses, licensees, permits, and permitees, examining various business entities and financial records, and other compliance and enforcement activities not classified elsewhere. Examples:Investigates possible criminal violations of applicable laws and/or the alleged abuse or neglect of patients in health care facilities. Conducts investigations and inspections of agencies and individuals performing regulated activities for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Making judgments about or assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people. Prepares report of findings and recommendations for corrective action.
