While with the Minnesota GreenCorps I worked with Facilities staff to develop an incremental LED retrofit plan for Mille Lacs County. This plan will eventually save the County over $5,000 annually while avoiding a $30,000 upfront cost. I also designed and ran a water sampling study of County surface waters that determined the County's Public Works Department did not need to make changes to its road salt practices.I love diving into a pile of old data and pulling out actionable information. While working on a stream-monitoring project for the Minnesota GreenCorps, I found an unexplained historical spike in chloride levels in Mille Lacs County streams. After communicating with a neighboring county, I was able to identify the cause as chloride-based dust suppression at an off-roading festival.WHERE I CAN ADD VALUE:Technical: Field or lab work Assist with the preparation of technical project documentsBalance fieldwork with office responsibilitiesResearch and compilation of dataEnvironmental policySustainability programsADDITIONAL SKILLS:Environmental PolicyAnalyticalSolving complex problemsInductive ReasoningCritical ThinkingData DrivenLeadershipTeam LeaderConsistently meeting deadlinesExcellent communication skills Record-keeping abilitiesOrganizational skillsPersonally, I have a passion for storm chasing and weather photography.
