Switching from engineering to chemistry isn’t how I envisioned my path in university, but I would not change a single step of the journey. On one hand, I found a love and passion for the science and all its intricacies. On the other, I was able to strengthen two important traits: adaptability and resilience. I pride myself on seeking discomfort and joy in all aspects of life, both as a way to ensure constant growth and as a method of creating happiness in every situation. These last couple of years at Penn State Behrend have really allowed me to build upon myself, and I fully intend to continue this progress.One thing that has remained constant is my passion for sports. They have instilled into me not just a hunt for competition and betterment, but also an appreciation for failure. Every day is an opportunity to progress and learn from your mistakes and shortcomings, and sports have really pressed this into my heart. In the future, I hope to apply these foundational traits to the chemistry world in a manner that enables me to help society and every person I encounter. Hopefully one day, I will find myself in a position that allows me to spread my knowledge and ideals.As time goes on, my thirst for knowledge and hunger for progress grows. I look forward to doing this with many other great individuals as my professional life blossoms.
