Regulatory Compliance - Developing test documentation and training personnel internally on the use and submission of such.Management of Projects and Personnel – Technical support for both clients and company personnel as well as coordinating and managing people and projects from not only a technical perspective but a safety, financial and timeline aspect. Responsible for much of the technical training including apprentice electricians and clients. Developing many training packages for internal staff for new equipment and electrical commissioning, including classroom presented training packages, practical hands on training and competency assessments. Conducting similar training packages for clients for new products being introduced to their systems as well as on-site training for equipment and systems that were installed.

Many of the duties listed in the technical manager role progressing more in to the management aspects as the company grew from 5-6 people at the beginning to around 30 by the time I progressed to management.One of the key projects during this time was major project in Mali – West Africa. As one of the first expatriate personnel sent to site, my duties were to ensure reliable operation of the existing ageing power station whilst beginning the installation of the new one until the main body of power station installation personnel arrived. This involved working in a challenging environment from an equipment and personnel point of view and it was left to me to source and engage local labour and plant as well as training the local workforce on the installation and operation of the equipment to Australian standards. This also required leveraging off my very limited High School level French language education and combine with the local adaptation of the language to be able to communicate effectively with the workforce with limited interpreter availability.Duties also included work in the offshore/onshore oil and gas industry including platform works, FPSO and onshore processing. As well as servicing a broad range of clients across regional WA.
