The goal is to create a culture that achieves high performance in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Morale through the elimination of process waste to give our customers high quality products at the lowest price.In addition to the Logistics Manager role I am the site lead and Manager for the Lean department which works across the DC. This encompasses process improvement events to realise opportunities in purchasing, receiving, picking, inventory, supplier management and distribution. I am responsible for the establishment and communication of the Lean site vision, mentoring Lean agents, project identification and ROI business cases. I train Lean agents and key stakeholders in root cause analysis, problem solving, 5 whys, fish bone diagrams, change management, progress control boards, identification and elimination of the 7 wastes, visual workplace, rapid improvement events, SIPOCS, value stream mapping, trigger point dashboards and data driven decision making.Based on the 5 whys a three level Daily Productivity Review meeting was developed and implemented to involve operators, front line leaders and the site management team to drive high performance in safety, quality and productivity. Specifically, as the Demand Manager I was responsible for baseline and promotional forecasting for existing Brands and New Product Development (NPD). Other aspects of the role included determining safety stock levels, inventory optimisation, facilitation of S&OP, calculating pipefill volumes for new product launches and rebranding. A major function of the role was managing stakeholders, who included Marketing, National Business Mangers, Production, Regulatory, New Product Development and the Executive Team. Management of these stakeholders drove increased visibility, ownership and communication across the division leading to a culture of pro-active demand management to meet business objectives. The position was responsible for generating daily, weekly and monthly reports to track trends, gaps against budget by channel / brand, out of stocks, low stocks, SLOB and forecast accuracy.
