Centurion North Mine Expansion Project - Peabody Energy

Project planning contributing to the restoration of NGCM. Based on-site, my responsibilities encompass overseeing the schedule and providing support for project engineering tasks as needed. This role has provided me with hands-on familiarity with site operations particularly in the realm of supporting, ventilating, and re-entering an underground coal mine. Furthermore, I have gained proficiency in integrating diverse project management software tools including 'Primavera P6,' 'Monday.com,' and 'Power BI.' Through this experience, I have sparked a growing fascination with the mechanical aspects of underground mining operations.

During my three-month vacation program on the APLNG project at Condabri, I worked amongst anintegrated team of engineers and industry professionals, absorbing as much information and advice aspossible. The work I completed allowed me to learn how to effectively use all the latest engineeringsoftware as well as become extremely proficient with Microsoft excel. I was given the opportunity tospend time on site, helping me understand how the work I do in the office is applied in the field. A greatexample of this involved using the complex engineering drawings of separators on the wellsite’s to locatedifferent components. This vacation program was great experience, making lasting friendships due to agreat workplace culture, learning about the importance of safety, collaboration and accountability.

During my role as a trade assistant to a carpenter, I gained practical skills in tool and material management, site upkeep, and hands-on carpentry techniques. This knowledge significantly contributed to successful project outcomes and enhanced overall productivity.

My three-month internship at Stock-yard Hill Wind Farm Project allowed me to gain practical engineeringexperience. During my time, I worked within the quality assurance team where I was able to gain anunderstanding of the procedures behind a large project and develop a detail-oriented viewpoint. Whilst atSNC Lavalin, I also developed my competence skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Whilst on University holidays, I was given the opportunity to work on multiple farms. Working in a small team daily, I was able to refine my teamwork skills as well as being able to work efficiently under pressure. My experience as a farm hand has also given my practical knowledge on the mechanical systems in place at these farms and remote Australia.
