About Ben Meyer
Ben started his career at Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank on the currency trading desk in the treasury. He later joined the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) were he played a pivotal role in establishing the first ETF in South Africa and also contributed to the growth of ETPs on the South African markets. He was recruited by Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) to establish a ETF and a ETP business and was involved in structuring UCITS funds domiciled in Luxembourg as well as driving RMB’s initiative to list ETFs on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). He then joined STANLIB in the Alternative Asset Management Division and was responsible for the Beta business. Ben consulted to the FSCA and JSE on regulatory matters pertaining to exchange traded products (ETPs) as well as various issuers of ETFs. He served as the CEO of Sygnia Securities was employed at Ashburton Investments as an Index Solutions Specialist.
