I helped relocate the company to the US from Chile, rebrand and raise funding, and navigate the company to adapt its services to monitor COVID-19 patients remotely during the pandemic.

When I moved-on to co-found Alina Vision I joined the fund's Investment Committee to help monitor the investments through maturity. The fund wound down at the end of 2019 and delivered strong returns to investors.

DB MDF was a pioneering microfinance fund created in 1997 lending early stage funding to microfinance institutions in frontier markets. I managed the fund for DB and remained on the Board of Directors until we decided to wind down the fund and donate its accumulated assets to up and coming non-profit impact fund.

Ben left DB as a Vice President of Deutsche Asset Management in the Global Social Finance group within Sustainable Investments. The team raises impact capital to finance enterprises that directly benefit the poor. Ben was an investment officer, originating and monitoring loans to social enterprises in frontier markets globally, with an emphasis on healthcare and microfinance. Ben led the team’s lending in healthcare. Ben was responsible for the Deutsche Bank Eye Fund I, an innovative fund lending to eye hospitals that use a sustainable business model to treat the leading causes of preventable blindness in the developing world. Ben also managed the Deutsche Bank Microfinance Development Fund, which provides loans to early stage microfinance institutions. Ben received his MBA from Columbia Business School.
