This is the same company I helped found in Utah in 2020, with a name change to Avail Solar. It is the only business I can say that I was a main pillar helping it to thrive since its inception.I have personally found and generated about 80% of all completed residential solar sales, as well as training 90% of all the appointment setters we have ever had, and I have been involved in nearly every aspect of the business including recruiting, interviewing, in-office training, field training, door to door lead generation, Spanish language consultation, attending closes, all the lead scheduling, and all manner of consultation among closers, managers, and the CEO. As such, I learned a great deal about founding, running, and growing a small business. I take care of the vast majority of the lead generation strategy and direction, and the company has grown to include an in-house installation team of 5, a closer team of 5, and an appointment setter team of 12 personally overseen by me.

I found my calling in this position, or at least the beginning of a journey. I am very self-motivated and disciplined, and this was my first remote position, and I loved it. What I did: -made 50 calls and sent 30 emails a day-crafted strategy, communication, and scripts that were used by the BDR team.-learned and offered SaaS to DMO and such organizations-captured the attention and imagination of prospects from cold calls (I have a gift for it.)-went on the hunt to find those in need of our software services-was undaunted, with undampened enthusiasm, when a prospect didn't bite ("There is no rejection, only fishing.")-met with and collaborated with the CEO on a couple of occasions, concerning prospecting strategy, though I was new, and it was recognized that I was an up and coming leader-crafted language and communication that was effecting in setting demo appointments-mastered difficult facets of the softward and boiled it down to a summary that captured subjects' attention.

Current duties include prospecting (door to door, networking with property managers and others), finding the best fit for a customer (i.e. sales), order entry, often installation, customer service, and tech support. My heart is really in offering the quality products we have and especially in giving exceptional service that people aren’t used to in the industry, and I also exceed my quota most of the time, sometimes by a lot, and am one of the few to have achieved Elite status (in 2014).

I moved my family to Argentina for this opportunity and took a sabbatical from my Xfinity Sales job, to which I later returned. I managed the logistics of an 8,000 acre cattle ranch in Argentina, including oversight and transportation of personnel, provisions, drainage management, grassland management and controlled burn planning and safety, forestry operations and quality control, building renovation, machine maintenance, budget, and general project planning and execution. I became fluent in Spanish and improved my networking skills under difficult conditions.

I planned lessons, taught full time, evaluated student progress, coached middle school and high school cross country, and developed curriculum for an ESL summer program.

This was my second stint working in Beijing, and I worked in many capacities: teaching about 300 students weekly, developing new writing curriculum, conducting tutoring in the office after school, and planning and carrying out special events for the students like a Halloween carnival. I also was responsible for training and integrating about 10 new teachers from the States, including teaching training, Chinese language training, cultural and general support in the new environment. Most notably, I developed new writing curriculum for the school’s (consequently China’s) best students, who had much pressure to excel on the national exam in the English writing portion. Ren Da Fu Zhong High School is, nationally, China’s most famous school, and these students had been filtered out as the best in math and science, and many of them went on to Yale, Harvard, MIT, Cornell, etc.

The thing that got me interested in China was volunteering my time on the weekends to tutor Chinese students fresh in the States to study in various schools in Ohio. I would go to the Dayton Chinese Christian Church, which had a program that connected with students that had just come from China. Then I became a prime candidate for the Cedarville University teaching program in China, for which there was competition, and many were not accepted the year I went. After I was in China, there were many side opportunities for tutoring: economics graduate students at Renmin University, employees at RAD Data Communications, and a couple other families that had me tutor their children privately. I even had the opportunity to be an adjunct undergraduate business English professor for one term at Renmin University. All these thing allowed me to branch out, learn to be flexible, and to learn from many different kinds of people. As with my weeks of travel all over China, it helped me to have confidence in going new places and trying new things.

I returned from my first teaching assignment in China to this, what used to be a summer job during college. Shortly after starting, they offered me a position supervising work crews of 3 to 6 people or so, making sure all equipment was on site, setup was conducted according to regulations, and work was carried out correctly. This is an industry in which companies commonly receive visits from state inspectors, because we were removing asbestos, lead and mold from schools and state buildings. In early 2007, I was awarded the yearly safety award for safe work practices and a good safety record.

I lived at the school in Beijing and taught 300+ middle school and high school students English. We also volunteered our time in office hours for tutoring, or to organize special events especially centered around western holidays. We had to plan lessons and evaluate student performance. It was also a great education for me on how to change communication style based on the audience, since I would teach students of many different English abilities.
