Being a partner in a small business required me to wear multiple hats in order for the company to be successful. As business grew over the years, my role evolved from day to day operations and logistics to strategic planning, sales growth, and employee development. An integral part of our success was the selection and development of talent. I initially hired and trained the customer facing employees to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients. Through training and development, many of these employees flourished and moved into higher level positions, taking on director and project manager responsibilities. As these employees took on greater duties, it allowed me to focus on “bigger rocks” such as sales development, vendor relations, and P&L management. During my time with the organization, top-line revenue grew over 300%, and NOP over 700%.
