- Led a team of 100+ security and regulatory compliance professionals in charge of securing, monitoring and acquiring regulatory certifications/accreditations across all Oracle Public Cloud services. That list of services included SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. I grew this team from 6 individuals to 100+ in just over 4 years.- Managed a very large regulatory compliance portfolio, covering most Oracle Cloud Services. This portfolio included: over 20 SSAE16 SOC 1 & 2 reports, 3 ISO certifications, 3 FedRAMP accreditations, 2 HIPAA attestations and a PCI certification.- Managed efforts across Oracle Cloud to measure and ensure compliance with GDPR.- Managed security operations, monitoring, forensics, incident response and ethical hacking teams who were responsible for the day-to-day security of the Oracle Cloud.- Managed cloud security architecture and engineering teams who developed security capabilities that form the core security strategy of the Oracle Cloud environment.- Conducted regular strategic customer and industry briefings and discussions on security in the cloud. I also participated in regular public speaking engagements for audiences ranging from 20-2000 and on a variety of cloud security related topics.

- Led a team responsible for securing enterprise SaaS services within the Oracle Public Cloud, ensuring exceptional security and continued adherence to recognized standards.- Managed rapidly shifting strategic priorities across a very quickly growing Oracle Cloud infrastructure.- Conducted security due diligence and eventual on-boarding of acquired cloud companies, which included associated security standardization and regulatory compliance.

- Managed and integrated the security teams of acquired companies in a rapid acquisition environment.- Established thought leadership within Oracle around cloud security best practices.

- Managed an enterprise IT Services team providing technology solutions internally for the company globally. This included providing productivity, telephony, broadband, collaboration, mobile and cloud-based solutions for all global RightNow employees.- In parallel with the IT Services leadership role, my primary responsibilities were dedicated to security for the RightNow Cloud environment and also the enterprise. This involved both technical security and regulatory compliance, resulting in RightNow being one of the first cloud services in the market to receive PCI-DSS certification, HIPAA adherence attestation, SSAE16 SOC1/SOC2 attestations and also NIST 800-53 (moderate) accreditation.

I recognized the need for a dedicated security role within RightNow Technologies and wrote a job description and group charter to create a security team, ultimately being asked to lead and build that team. My areas of responsibility covered all aspects of security at RightNow Technologies, including: corporate/enterprise security, cloud security and regulatory compliance. An extreme focus on creating a secure cloud operating environment that would make security a differentiator for our customers were my priority and passion.Embracing regulatory compliance as a tool and a differentiator in our space, rather than a burden, added an extreme level of maturity to our operations.

Engineered and built cloud operations environment, scaling from from only a couple of Linux servers in an office network closet to hundreds of Linux hosts and network infrastructure in enterprise co-location facilities. Systems were designed for security, scale and lights-out management. Building systems and environments by selecting and combining open source technologies was extremely challenging and rewarding.RightNow Technologies was going through a period of rapid growth during this period, including becoming a publicly traded company.
