I was in ROTC at the Univerity of North Georgia. While there I studied Pre-Engineering and Physics. I was also in the Army ROTC program. Through ROTC I learned multiple leadership styles and techniques. I had to give impromptu briefings and presentations about tactics and ways to complete certain tasks. I have also engaged in team building exercises and after my freshman year, I became a Squad Leader having to lead around 10-12 Freshman and other sophomore subordinates. Along with ROTC, I was a founding father and president of The Society of Engineers at UNG. In this club, we studied current engineering feets, assembled derby cars and trebuchets using the engineering design process. I also worked for the US federal government (and still do during school breaks) as a Biological Research Aid in the USDA. Although not my field it is great to work with scientists and the US Government. I have also worked with Donaldson and Garret Land Surveying as an Administrative Assistant and Field Crew member. I had to learn to file past projects, learn basic AUTOCAD functions, read Platt maps and work field surveying instrumentation.
