Hello there! I’m Ben, a senior in the Joint Degree Program between William & Mary and the University of St. Andrews. I’m pursuing degrees in Economics and Computer Science. I am passionate about business, economics and programming. I’m always excited to take on new challenges and look forward to learning and growing in a career.Over the years, I’ve cultivated valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication from various roles, including internships, tennis coaching, and lifeguarding. I also bring several years of programming experience through classwork, internships, and personal projects. This past summer, I worked as a software development intern at xDJs, a Seattle based start up, where I played a pivotal role in developing a new web application aimed at fostering a love for music. I reengineered the application from the ground up, designing new visuals, abstracting server calls, and implementing robust type safety. Through pair programming with an experienced developer, I rapidly enhanced both my technical and interpersonal skills. My time studying abroad in Scotland and traveling extensively has broadened my global perspective and strengthened my adaptability and problem-solving abilities. Outside of programming, my passion for automobiles and vintage car restoration has sharpened my attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship.I’m also committed to social justice, diversity, and inclusion, as reflected by my invitation to William & Mary’s Mortar Board, an honor society dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and service. My experiences have not only honed my technical skills but also instilled a commitment to using my work for positive impact.
