I helped develop a new mobile usage product for the company. This product was developed from scratch to complement the existing core data at PushSpring. We successfully acquired our first customers as I wrapped up my time with the company, and the project was on track to become a successful core product in the next year or two.I worked with the CTO on which sector we should build the product for, how the UI should look and feel and the bulk of the implementation. The work consisted of a number back end server implementation (Ubuntu/NodeJS), mobile applications (primarily Android, but also some iOS work), static website (hosting on AWS, HTML, CSS, etc.), and database layer (postgres, Snowflake, Treasure Data). Worked with a data scientist to help clean, normalize, and combine data from a variety of sources to get better results than the industry leaders. In addition to working on the core features at the company, I also formalized, with buy in from the team and executives, a set of hiring values for the company, in order to minimize the effects of unconcious bias on the interview and hiring process.Worked with NodeJS (service architecture), AngularJS, AWS services (EC2, postgres RDS, S3, Route 53, Redshift), Snowflake, Android, iOS, HTML, CSS, Ubuntu (shell script, iptables, DNS), UI/UX work (with our designer).
Dev Manager For New Business Engineering
My team at Redfin was essentially a startup within a startup. In order to change the real estate world, we worked to make the entire home buying and selling process a breeze. We helped expand from real estate into the title insurance business, by supporting Title Forward. We connected the two companies together to make the entire process as seamless and streamlined as possible. My team built out a document storage and signing platform. We also integrated with the 3rd party CRM service that Title Forward uses to make it so that documents could appear instantly for the relevant people. Building out an integral document service for a real estate company is a huge undertaking, so we also worked to make sure that we would have a high quality product that everyone could rely on to get the job done faster and more efficiently than anything they were previously relying on.Worked with Java, Spring, JavaScript (dojo), HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, and a number of 3rd party APIs
