I helped develop a new mobile usage product for the company. This product was developed from scratch to complement the existing core data at PushSpring. We successfully acquired our first customers as I wrapped up my time with the company, and the project was on track to become a successful core product in the next year or two.I worked with the CTO on which sector we should build the product for, how the UI should look and feel and the bulk of the implementation. The work consisted of a number back end server implementation (Ubuntu/NodeJS), mobile applications (primarily Android, but also some iOS work), static website (hosting on AWS, HTML, CSS, etc.), and database layer (postgres, Snowflake, Treasure Data). Worked with a data scientist to help clean, normalize, and combine data from a variety of sources to get better results than the industry leaders.In addition to working on the core features at the company, I also formalized, with buy in from the team and executives, a set of hiring values for the company, in order to minimize the effects of unconcious bias on the interview and hiring process.Worked with NodeJS (service architecture), AngularJS, AWS services (EC2, postgres RDS, S3, Route 53, Redshift), Snowflake, Android, iOS, HTML, CSS, Ubuntu (shell script, iptables, DNS), UI/UX work (with our designer).

My team at Redfin was essentially a startup within a startup. In order to change the real estate world, we worked to make the entire home buying and selling process a breeze. We helped expand from real estate into the title insurance business, by supporting Title Forward. We connected the two companies together to make the entire process as seamless and streamlined as possible.My team built out a document storage and signing platform. We also integrated with the 3rd party CRM service that Title Forward uses to make it so that documents could appear instantly for the relevant people. Building out an integral document service for a real estate company is a huge undertaking, so we also worked to make sure that we would have a high quality product that everyone could rely on to get the job done faster and more efficiently than anything they were previously relying on.Worked with Java, Spring, JavaScript (dojo), HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, and a number of 3rd party APIs

Lead the engineering effort on a new version of the Home Value Tool, which allowed a visitor to determine the value of their home by viewing the nearby homes and selecting the best matches. Built the frontend following MVC principles and created a model that has been used in a number of places since that time.Helped switch over our list architecture to enable lazy loading. Worked with two other developers to build an email job that sends out monthly reports about neighborhoods and homes to over 300,000 users.Wrote a postgres report to help audit our partner program. We were able to recover around $50,000 in missed referrals fees.Took ownership over all the work my team was doing with the partner agent program. Launched buy and sell-side pages to track their deals. Added improved email support for the agents and the team. Made it possible for the partner agents to self-report their vacations. Added support for incentive pricing. Put in extra information to a daily digest sent to the agents.Created SQL code to automatically track table updates. I worked on the Wetpaint website. I helped to instrument their pages with Chartbeat, a tool that allowed us to better monitor user activity on the website. I combined this code with existing Google analytics tracking, and in the process helped speed up the process. I assisted with the rollout of the newly themed website. I worked on Redfin's CRM service for their agents. My intern project was to bring digital signatures to Redfin. I did a vendor evaluation and presented my results to the CTO. I then built out an integration with DocuSign and led a pilot program in two of Redfin's markets to help make sure that the new digital signatures workflow met the agent's needs.Worked with Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SOAP, and Postgres

I work on the router group at Cisco. I worked to debug existing code, refactor some of the router logic, and also help start building a program that would simplify the router installation process. I received an award during my internship for my help in improving the code base. In addition, I was invited back after my internship and worked part time during the school year.My work at Cisco mainly involved Java programming.

Worked on a prototype Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner for small animals. Worked on collecting data about how effectively various crystals captured radiation images. Soldered electrical circuits for the machine. Corrected some of the in house computer programs associated with the scanner. Towards the end of my time, also helped write some of the computer programs leveraging monte carlo simulations to analyze the most effective mirror configurations for the crystal receptors.Programming work was in C/C++

Worked with crews of local and international members to clear out invasive species from parks across Seattle. Worked with a variety of volunteers, including a group of at risk students in south Seattle. Helped set up computers for incoming support staff members. Assisted with fundraising, including calling potential donors and mailing out over 2000 update letters.
