Geo-environmental ground gas protection specialist.

Initially contracted to assist in fieldwork, I became responsible for organising all field operations. I was involved in all aspects of consultancy work and the operation of the practice. TLC is a small consultancy dealing mainly with the needs of local developers, but clients have included local authorities, farmers, charities and companies in the rail and construction sector. The range of locations has included several former fuel stations and the sites of a paint works, tannery, shipyard, quarry, rail sidings and a workhouse as well as working farms, allotments and building sites.My work has included fieldwork and reporting on: Phase 1 and 2 investigations, supervision of remediation works, due diligence soil testing and screening, muck away testing and screening, goundwater monitoring, liaison with regulators and supervison of sub-contractors.

Investigating the potential of composted municipal solid waste (MSW) as a growing medium for nettles to remediate landfill leachate in a closed loop system.

Studied an in depth FGASA Level 2 course which included working as a guide in a 5 star game lodge on a private reserve, topics studied included:o Ecology, climatology, geology, astronomy.o Mammals, birds, arthropods, reptiles, amphibians, fish, trees and grasses. Taxonomy and ethology.o Planning and conducting research. Organizational and time management.o Motor vehicle maintenance, 4x4 driving skills and first aid training.o Conservation as a field guide, sustainable tourism.
