I lead an award-winning Investor Relations team, executing TransAlta’s Investor Relations strategy through a consistent and effective communications plan. As part of my role I help develop Investor Relations strategic plans to deliver on key program objectives and goals across all investor channels to achieve fair valuation through targeting, communications, and marketing strategies.I manage and support relationships between senior leadership and key members of the investment community, including sell-side and buy-side analysts and investors.

Using complex data analysis and review, I identified over 2M+ in compliance deficiencies alone on a single vendor.

I performed research and analysis of the capital markets, economic outlook, and Suncor company peers on behalf the CFO and Board of Directors. Each quarter and subsequently in between I liaised with the business to gather and regularly update the Investor Relations (IR) model with operating and financial information for external disclosure. I led the project of building and preparing the Downstream Supplemental deck for external disclosure, and contributed original concepts to the preparation of marketing materials. Through data analysis and development, a complex PowerBI Investor Relations dashboard was created for the Executive Leadership Team to compare Suncor to competitors.

During my time in the organization, I closed out over 1600 Management of Change and 48 Major Projects in the Suncor information management system. I contributed to the technical services organization as an Engineering Management of Change Analyst for Asset Information Management (AIM) Suncor In Situ SAGD facilities, which includes the responsibility to be the Project Asset Information Gatekeeper and Analyst for technical engineered projects in Suncor’s In Situ Operations. Due to my subject matter expertise, I was designated as the cross-functional Representative for AIM with Finance and Supply Chain Upstream Operations. I worked with the Management of Change Team on the Knowledge Management System, Suncor’s tool for Management of Change [MOC], and SAP Tool improvements for MOCs where I developed AIM questions and helped orchestrate the transition between old Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS) to the new EDMS in the ADLP program.

Designated as the technical representative for the Firebag Plant and Pad Facilities (215,000 barrels a day), I audited and managed change of technical information for Suncor Upstream In Situ Operations. My time management and cross functional group coordination skills were honed through tight schedules and working to accommodate different business unit needs.

I worked on a fly in and fly out rotation, auditing Pre-Startup Safety Review Commissioning and Start-Up for Operations Document Control, Redlines, and overall audit of Voyageur Operations Document Management. I developed a Governing Documents (Processes and Procedures) Folder Structure in Livelink as well as maintained the Governing Documents and controlled information for operations projects on the East Tank Farm.

My teambuilding and teamwork skills were broadened through numerous hours spent working on a 20 person unit crew as well as with hundreds of other fire fighting personnel from across North America. My situation solving and quick thinking abilities heightened through stressful experiences, and knowledge of intense safety standards were gained through working in dangerous environments with top safety training standards. My leadership skills were expanded by the mentorship and training of new fire crew members, and skills in handling public relations gained through interactions with the public on the fireline.•

While studying full-time, I promoted and marketed different companies across the greater Calgary area, working with 100s of potential customers daily.

As a summer job, my management and leadership experience was broadened as Crew Foreman of co-workers and as an operator of company trucks and ATV equipment. A different perspective and knowledge was gained of Alberta Oil and Gas Industry gained with full qualification to apply herbicides, train as an arborist, and work within the oil fields.

During time off between semesters I worked with seasoned carpenters on large scale industrial projects with 10+ co-workers.

As a summer job, I worked building complex wood and steel bridge modules, sometimes exceeding 15 hours a day. Long hours involving teamwork were put in, working within a 6 man module crew to finish projects.
