About Ben Petersen

Hi, I’m Ben.I build things—ideas, companies, and systems—from the ground up. Whether it’s starting a side hustle that grows into a thriving business or solving big challenges for a team, I thrive on the process of creating something from nothing. Life, to me, is about growth: learning, connecting, and building toward something greater every day.I’m the Co-Founder & CEO of Cords Club, an e-commerce brand that started as a passion project and now serves hundreds of thousands of customers. We create jewelry that’s stylish, safe for sensitive ears, and personal—because it’s a journey that started close to home. My wife and Co-Founder, Lexi, leads the creative side of the business, while I focus on scaling: hiring incredible people, solving problems, and driving long-term strategy.Along the way, I’ve held roles in sales, client support, and executive leadership, learning what it takes to take an idea from a startup to something thriving. I love working with people who share my passion for big ideas, grit, and the messy, rewarding process of building something great.

  • Cords Club
    Co-Founder & Ceo
Cords Club Jan 2024 - Present
    Spanish Fork, Ut, Us
Cords Club started as a side hustle with my wife and Co-Founder, Lexi. Inspired by her struggle to find jewelry safe for sensitive ears, we began handcrafting pieces that were both stylish and skin-friendly. Those early days were full of late nights and big dreams, and while Lexi’s creative vision shined, I quickly learned that my knack wasn’t for hands-on making. Instead, I found my place applying energy, skills, and resources where they could matter most—building the systems, strategies, and team to grow the business. What started with small Instagram drops grew into a thriving e-commerce brand with a loyal customer base and a reputation for quality and care. Lexi leads the creative side of the business—her vision shapes our product design and brand identity. Without Lexi’s vision and creative leadership, Cords Club would not have the strong, authentic brand and product offerings that have resonated so deeply with our customers.Together, we’ve built something amazing from scratch: a company that serves hundreds of thousands of customers who value comfort, beauty, and community. My role focuses on growth. I source and hire the best team members, train them into leaders, identify bottlenecks, and find the best opportunities to scale. Whether it’s discovering new marketing channels, launching product innovations, or steering long-term strategy, I’m always working to take Cords Club to the next level.I am continually learning that building something great takes more than just a good idea—it takes incredible people, a willingness to fail (often), and the grit to keep going when the road gets bumpy.
  • Findd Inc.
    Chief Revenue Officer
    Findd Inc. Jun 2020 - Nov 2024
    Provo, Utah, Us
Responsible for driving growth, building problem-solving products, and ensuring that the team and vision moved forward. This role was about wearing multiple hats—strategy, leadership, relationship building, and even a bit of firefighting when needed.I focused on helping Findd’s enterprise clients see the value of our solutions while working to turn big ideas into reality. Whether that meant creating strategies from scratch or leading a team through uncertainty, it was all about building something from nothing and delivering results that mattered.I learned that sometimes the best solutions come from starting with a blank whiteboard and way too many markers—and that no matter how big the challenge, persistence and great people will get you there.
  • Findd Inc.
    Director Of Client Support
    Findd Inc. Aug 2018 - Jun 2020
    Provo, Utah, Us
We all know startup titles are meaningless—they can never capture the full scope of what you do.From managing client relationships to driving sales, handling account retention, product QA, and even dabbling in design, this role was all about wearing every hat imaginable. In a small, bootstrapped startup, every day was an adventure—long calls, sweaty problem-solving sessions, and the constant thrill of building something great.I learned that startups are meant to break things. You break norms, challenge the status quo, and push ideas that face rejection until they don’t. Sometimes you’re too early, sometimes you’re too late, but the secret is sticking around long enough to make the big ideas count.
  • Vivint Smart Home
    Sales Representative
Vivint Smart Home Jan 2018 - May 2019
    Provo, Ut, Us
Knocked on doors. Made sales.Built relationships with amazing people and discovered the art of understanding what people need—(hint: they don't tell you because most often they don't know for themselves). I learned that trust starts with a smile (and that’s free). That every rejection brings you closer to a yes.And that people care deeply about having their problems solved. Show them their problem, connect it to their emotions, and they’ll welcome you with open arms.(Oh, also learned that West Texas heat will humble you faster than a slow sales day.)
  • Brigham Young University
    Information Systems Technician
Brigham Young University Aug 2016 - May 2018
    Provo, Ut, Us
Went from “Ben is tech savvy” to “Ben can solve anything.” This role honed my problem-solving skills and taught me that Google is (was—hello, LLMs) the best tool in any professional’s arsenal.I learned to manage thousands of devices and hundreds of networks.I also learned that I don’t love managing thousands of devices and hundreds of networks—but I do love solving problems and making systems work better.
