Business Transformation Specialist
Engaged to advise an Australian media organisation with an IT transformation program in distress. Designed and led cross-organisation working groups to (1) re-assess the program intent and required outcomes, (2) assess the progress made in delivering against these, (3) identify the reasons for ongoing delays, and (4) evaluate alternative strategies and executional plans to re-direct resource and focus to deliver the program. Supported a radical re-think of the strategy, gained alignment to terminate existing supplier and build expertise in-house with a solution based on AWS Cloud. Supported the client to stand-up in-house capabilities, release two suppliers, rescue a major strategic component from the programProvided strategic guidance and execution support in delivery of a major state government tax reform in Australia. Led implementation across 140 local government agencies, and 10 software platforms. Led teams to deliver code changes, install upgrades, and complete testing ahead of publicly communicated launch dates.Supported a leading teleco JV to identify and deliver annualised operating cost savings of 20%, and a 50% reduction in installation of new cell sites. Worked in partnership with the COOs of each telco, building a cross-organisation framework and working groups to identify, agree, and action opportunities. Key initiatives executed included (1) network cost optimisation, (2) pooling of resources securing permissions for new sites, and (3) integration of H&S initiatives.Closed down a sub brand for a global Telco to deliver $20M annualised savings in brand licensing fees, migrating 1.2M customers to the parent brand. The program involved closure of retail, digital, customer support, billing, brand, terminating supplier agreements, and downsizing of the workforce while maintaining service, and retaining customers via a smooth transition to the parent brand. Program was delivered 40% ahead of schedule and achieved a customer retention rate of 87%.
