I am currently working on micro- to meso-scale undulators and quadrupoles to be used in an ultra-compact x-ray free electron laser, both on the modeling side using COMSOL Multiphysics and in fabrication.

I successfully fabricated micrometer-sized MRI contrast agents to more easily investigate the effect of a changing environment (such as salinity or sucrose level changes) on the resonant frequency of the device. I used lithography, metal evaporation and nickel electroplating to fabricate the devices.

I calculated various parameters to be used in a tight-binding model to predict electronic structure, and possible formation of a two-dimensional electron gas, for potassium tantalate. I then used a custom MATLAB program to solve the Poisson and Schrodinger equations self-consistently.
