Contributing to the achievement of the aims of both sports I deliver a bespoke lifestyle coaching service to athletes on the World Class Programme with British Triathlon and Para Canoe. As Paralympic technical lead for Performance Lifestyle I work with key staff to deliver the EIS Paralympic Performance Lifestyle strategy.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Responsible for strategic planning and central support on all matters relating to disability and inclusion. As part of the targeted interventions team I develop a wide range of products, services and initiatives to facilitate participation of disabled people in sport and physical activity. Other areas of focus include implementing staff training to ensure adequate disability customer service and sport specific knowledge, develop employment, volunteering and work experience placement pathways. Closely working with NGB’s to maintain and establish pathways for disability sports and development initiatives.

Greenwich

This role aimed to increase the number of disabled people in Greenwich participating in physical activity and sport. I led on the strategic planning and coordination as well as facilitated delivery of disability sport and physical activity in Greenwich. I worked as part of a wider team but had individual responsibilities to deliver on a number of strategic and frontline delivery projects, such as planning and implementing an inclusive and active strategy, event organisation, leading on forums, attending Board meetings, data monitoring and evaluation, report writing, presenting data and updates and co-ordinating/communicating with a wide variety of partner organisations and individuals across Royal Greenwich.

An elite athlete whose accomplishments include European and World titles. I also won a bronze medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games despite several serious injuries.In my 15 or so year international career as a visually impaired judo player I accumulated a vast depth of knowledge of elite sport. The experience and knowledge I have attained from reflection of my own personal journey, through grassroots sport, to competing on the Worlds largest stage, has equipped me with many transferable skills. In conjunction with this I have witnessed many younger players embark on the same journey and I have played a part in mentoring and guiding them through their own careers helping them to develop as athletes. From my own successful sporting career as a Paralympian having attended 2 Paralympic Games and been a part of an integrated elite performance programme I learnt what is required to be successful in this unique environment from both a performance and a sport science perspective across all levels of competition.
