Short term secondary teaching position. My role included developing lesson content and assessment for Digital Technology classes, Year 10 to 12, and finalising Verification for the Year 12 Information Technology Systems class.

Developing learning programs, individual lessons and assessment packages for Mathematics and Computing subjects in Senior Phase.In this role, I have had to design lessons for Web Design, Embedded Systems, Game Design and Mobile Applications for the Senior computing subject. In teaching mathematics, I've created video's that develop the processes used. These videos show how to write out solutions using simple problem solving techniques as a means of supplementing class teaching. The videos get included with the online course management system so that students who are away can catch up.

Developing internet software for clients including accounting software and software services (XML gateways) – in this role I used internet based technology based upon PHP. During this role I confirmed that internet based software required a different architecture from application software – methodology that works for applications can cause extremely poor performance when used for web sites.

Sessional Tutoring for computing workshops, hypertext narrative and primary mathematics pedagogy – in this role I developed an eFolio booklet, digital portfolio template, and hypertext narrative template for students to complete their interview portfolios and hypertext assignments. I used reflective practice whilst being a tutor for continuous improvement which was reflected in the student reviews. For the computer workshops I was asked to supervise and prepare a program outline for ICT students that would assist others to create the interview portfolios – this included using wikis, blogs, online self-assessment tools and other office software.

Supporting and customising Window's SharePoint, Excel and Access – in this role I was an internal customer liaison for software support. I became aware of the need for differing software architecture between application based and internet based software due to how they are executed.

Developing real-time electro-cardiogram software – in this role I expanded my knowledge of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) combined with real-time Digital Signal Processing. I developed 32 bit software from existing 16 bit, to make use of the newer MS Windows operating system. As a developer of medical software I had to research, test and conform to Medical Device Standards set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – the application’s architecture and user interface had to be flexible to service the changing requirements by different medical clients.

As a graduate I entered the real-world, developing a data acquisition system for internal use by Australia Post – in this role I moved from embedded firmware development to networking server/client and databases. In the process of developing the data acquisition system, several systems had to be included to use peripheral devices such as scanners, scales, and printers.
