About Ben Read
I am a bioengineer and immunologist with a passion for using cutting-edge techniques to investigate immunological changes in response to infection and/or antigen stimulation to help create next generation therapeutics and vaccines against clinically relevant diseases.Currently, I work in the Kwon Lab at the Ragon Institute to uncover early immunological and viral events that occur in the female genital tract following exposure to HIV, utilizing flow cytometry, microscopy, and single-cell sequencing to discover how these infections are established with the goal of uncovering new therapeutic avenues. Previously, I worked on understanding mechanisms affecting the in vivo trafficking of nanoparticulate antigens and how this trafficking relates to immunogenicity as part of my PhD work in the Irvine Lab at MIT.
