I am a 1L at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. I aspire to join the US Navy JAG Corps, work in a medium-sized firm, or work in a judicial clerkship upon graduation.I am an all-source Intelligence Specialist for the US Navy Reserve. During my Drill Weekends, I analyze mission-critical information for ONI FTAC COL out of Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. I am driven by a profound sense of patriotism and a commitment to provide for others. I’ll never forget standing in front of an oral board of Chiefs and Petty Officers towards the end of my time in Boot Camp. I was asked: what was the most difficult part about Boot Camp? I replied that nothing we were tasked with was particularly difficult. Everything we were assigned to do was stressful, but manageable. I told the oral board the hardest part about Boot Camp for me was being away from loved ones and dealing with the pangs of separation. I explained that the realization that everything I was doing was for both names embroidered on my chest, the U.S. Navy’s name and my family’s name, was what drove me to keep going. I will never be able to simply give up and call it quits because I understand that my endeavors are never purely my own. My efforts support my family and my country. Knowing this brings a sense of immense pride that will always keep my fire lit.
