Providing environmental consultancy support to clients in the UK and overseas. Consultancy services include environmental risk management, water security assessments, supply chain risk management, project management, policy development and natural resource management.

I had the pleasure of leading the Cornwall Council Environmental Growth and Partnerships team during a transition period within the Environment Service. Key functions of the role included working with colleagues to shape and deliver Council Service plans supporting delivery of the corporate strategy in relation to the Environmental Growth and Environment Policy, the 2019 Climate Emergency declaration and associated Climate Action Plan. Duties also included developing the strategic Forest for Cornwall project, leading the Authority’s statutory work as Lead Local Flood Authority, key Council adviser providing the support to the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership, Cornwall and Tamar Valley AONB’s and commercial leadership of the Cornwall Archaeological Service. Between mid-January and March 2020 I supported the newly appointed permanent post holder as they took on the Environmental Growth and Partnerships team.

Ben completed a 2 year contract managing the Environmental Management Division within the Environment and Natural Resources Directorate of Saint Helena Government. The key objective of the Division has been to ensure that National Goal 3: Effective management of the environment is delivered. This is done through ongoing conservation work and implementation of the National Environmental Management Plan. His additional responsibilities included the post of Chief Environmental Officer, representing the islands environmental management activities internationally.

Ben ran the Water and Environment Consulting team for RPS in the South East. His clients included Southern Water, South East Water and South West Water.

Ben managed the South East Region Planning & Environment team, comprising 70 specialists.He lead two water utility frameworks and a regional rail framework for the provision of environmental services.
