Contracted for business enhancement projects. Created a web application with Python/Django to automate the task of importing sales data captured in Excel into a BMC Remedy frontend (using Oracle database backend). Worked on updates to the Kordia customer portal for address checking and fibre availability for multiple industry service providers. Updated enterprise network management tools for new connection types with PL/SQL scripts. Scoped projects for integrating with third party monitoring service for IoT devices; and multi-factor authentication. Created drivers for SNMP monitoring and outage alerts of new Cisco devices. Set up new virtual machines for deployment, orchestrated with Jenkins and Ansible. Performed code reviews, and mentoring of junior developers, in a Scrum/Agile team.

Contracted as a full-stack developer, for two projects: SOA Java applications (focusing on Spring) with REST and Angular front-ends (My Vodafone), then as part of the Online Development CMS team for the Vodafone.co.nz website. Extensive work with Oracle Web Center assets, definitions and back end models, JSP templates, Angular, and Cucumber features files for automated testing. Jenkins CI pipelines used for continuous delivery. Part of the initial team to set up supporting features for migration to new website framework for complete redesign of the Vodafone.co.nz website. Assisted with setup of Gitlab and introduced advanced git concepts to the team and code reviews. Provided mentoring support for junior developers.

Lead Python Developer for "Axle" CRM project. Consolidation of legacy systems into single web-based application for metadata-driven product configuration, ordering and billing. Also working with Java web services layer. Technologies include Django, jQuery, Spring, Redis, XML, Java, Oracle DB and Apache.Development of yellow.co.nz, finda.co.nz and other online properties (using Python, Django, AngularJS, PHP, MySQL, SOLR).The role also included working with DevOps for product deployment and production monitoring, involvement in new cloud-based deployment system, and mentoring junior/graduate developers.

Designed and implemented systems architecture of Collecto, based on microservices and cloud deployment. The Collecto application was designed to be a schema-less web-based and easy-to-use database platform. The prototype application used a Django front-end communicating with a Flask/PostgreSQL backend. As part of this role I also designed a custom deployment system and pipeline for building and deploying packages in a repeatable and atomic nature. I was also able to experiment with PostgreSQL's relatively new JSON data types, however they did not quite fit the project's needs and ultimately a more traditional metadata-driven system was implemented using standard SQL types. The project did not progress past the prototype stage and is unfortunately no longer operational.Other technologies used were Amazon S3, Salt Stack, Redis and Kombu.

Contracted for Django development to &Some Ideas, part of the Image Centre Group. The projects were a mix of client and in house web development. I was involved in all aspects of the web development process, including database design, Django views, conversion of mockups/wireframes to HTML and JavaScript. Clients I worked on include NZ Labour Party, Auckland Tennis (ASB Classic & Heineken Open), Ingram Micro, Toshiba and Juice TV. My final project had been building a CRM to consolidate and manage magazine subscribers. PHP and WordPress development was also performed as required.

Maintenance of PHP based Control Panel for Domain, Email, Web and DNS management, with MySQL backend. Worked on migrating legacy systems to new Python/Django applications with improved separation of concerns, successfully converted first application, customer billing/invoicing system, to Python/Django. Also built a domain reseller system (in PHP) to allow customers to customise the look and feel of their domain reseller interface, and integrate with multiple separate payment providers. Worked on a system allowing users to bid on expiring domains and register them.
