About Ben Simpson
I am currently a senior bioinformatician at DIOSynVax, helping develop novel approaches to vaccine design. I am also, a visiting senior bioinformatician at the University of Cambridge and a visiting scientist at the Francis Crick Institute. I previously worked as a research fellow in bioinformatics at the UCL Cancer Institute. My research explored the pan-cancer genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic determinants of the immune response, particularly exploring how these elements collectively predict response to cancer therapy. I am interested in how host and tumour genetic factors interact with the immune system and how this information can be leveraged to inform treatment strategies such as immunotherapy or cancer vaccines.
