I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics. My time as a student was spent challenging myself with real world projects both in and out of the classroom. My first experiences as an engineer was at Sportech where I assisted in a variety of projects. Previously, I had worked as a temporary worker there and during that time, I observed a lot of areas that related to my interests in engineering. Projects that I worked on ranged from design and construction of better transportation fixtures to using Solidworks to creating drawings or sub components used in creation of manufactured parts.My second experience interning was with Amsoil, again, as an engineering intern. There I was tasked with managing a project that was conducted in the Amsoil testing laboratory. Two popular landscaping mower engines were tested using Amsoil products, the results of which were then used in marketing material. I was tasked with designing a testing fixture, creating a project plan, and monitoring the costs.
