The Golden Mile is an online health and physcial activity initiative available to nurseries, primary schools and large corporates. The initiative has so far engaged over 20,000 primary school children, 11,000 nurseries children, 12,000 employees and raised over £44,000 for the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust. Our main aim is to deliver a measurable health and well-being initiative by inspiring and facilitating a positive step change in health and physical activity. The groundbreaking initiative has proved to inspired a positive step change in employee behaviour, by encouraging colleagues in Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) to improve their physical fitness levels. The site is accessible to all 13,500 LBG Wholesale employees and has proven to increase awareness of and enthusiasm towards Lloyds Banking Group’s London 2012 Partnership. Golden Mile have created a bespoke system for all 136 Nurseries chains nationwide accessible to over 12,000 of their Nursery children and staff. The children, staff and parents have clocked up an amazing 13,000 miles since January 2012 with the aim for each child to reach 8 Golden Miles. The initiative has raised £44,000 for the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust during organised fund raising days at each nursery site involving parents, staff and the children.
