Electrical And Instrumentation Supervisor
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and the Electrical Engineers, I have been asked to step in to lead a team of 15 including Apprentices for periods of up to two years in times of organisational change and leave. Above and beyond my daily technical hands-on tasks, I have been proud to have:• Nominated as the Health and Safety Representative for the Instrumentation and Electrical team, championing the successful ratification of a fatigue management system• Appropriately assigned skilled work groups to deliver subject matter expertise aiding effective, rapid root cause analysis and resolution of faults• Achieved 100% compliance to assigned preventative maintenance tasks, appropriately assigning specialist team members to conduct tasks effectively and safely within tight timeframes• Developed strong relationships with key part suppliers, proactively mapping upcoming required parts, partnering closely to source and manage delivery logistics for unique and scarce requirements• Following redundancy of parts required for aging plant equipment (such as lighting, UPS’s, Control Volves and Control Equipment and Instruments), developed site systems for management of change, executing appropriate equipment risk assessments for equipment upgrade. Coordinated the modification of new parts to meet required safety and production requirements
Instrument & Electrical Technician
As ongoing to my current Supervisory duties, I have completed electrical and instrument installation and preventative maintenance tasks, completing risk assessments for each task whilst strictly following job permitting procedures and company policies, working within a Hazardous areas permitting system. In addition, I have:• Developed successful Business Case, and subsequent site-wide management of change and safety case to replace solid lighting poles with Swivel Poles. The project led to 500 replacements, each one saving up to 20 hours required for scaffold and work procedures per light bulb replacement • Reviewed redundant equipment (contactors and overloads within switchboards), sourcing replacement for old PKZ parts. Devised successful site standard approval as ‘like for kind equipment’ (PKE’s), proactively improving inventory to maintain production• Consistently met or exceeded maintenance KPI targets, ensuring high quality work • Acted as Project Supervisor of Contractors during the 2020 shutdown, responsible for all equipment lift and moves around the sites high-voltage lines, coordinating up to 50 people • Applied strategic root cause analysis on a daily basis to determine best course of action within an aged plant both pre-dating digital monitoring equipment and utilising modern equipment. Analysed faults, engaging in initiatives to improve plant reliability, adding value to a multi-skilled production environmentSystems used: • Rosemount transmitters, Ktek levels, Flowserve valtek and Fisher valves, VFD’s, completing SIF/SIS tests on the process safety systems• Worked with Bently Nevada vibration monitoring systems, installing and setting up probes• Updated SAP (stores management system) • Tricon trip systems• Performed high voltage switching and the writing of HV switching sheets
