Key Responsibilities:• Work autonomously as well as overseeing a fluctuating team of between 9 and 27personnelOverall management for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vessels that comein to Patrick Terminal in Fremantle Port• Monitor safe work practices and ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, legislationand company standards• Allocate sufficient skill-set labour to cover each shift• Liaise with FPA/Shipping Lines to coordinate vessel’s arrival and departure• Set shift KPIs to Stevedoring Staff to increase productivity• Monitor workflow during each 8-hour shift and provide feedback to the workforce• Initiate safety protocols, engage with emergency services, manage dangerousgoods/spills, monitor safety compliance for personnel and workplace environment,undertake risk management and prevent contamination to the environment• Identify opportunities to twin lift containers instead of single lifts to improve efficiency andtime management• Identify Stevedoring safety concerns onboard vessels• Work with vessel owners, captains, The Maritime Union and employees to reach safe andacceptable outcomes, including relocating the crew/’gang’ to another area of the vesselto continue working until matters are resolved
