Work as a part of the Site Reliability Engineering team.

Lyve was acquired by Seagate. This position was a continuation of my role and responsibilities from Lyve with Seagate.Worked with the integration of the Lyve AWS infrastructure and toolset into the Seagate system. This was done carefully to ensure the stability, reliability and security of the product whilst allowing for the continuation of development on the product throughout the integration.

Work as part of the Site Reliability Team within Service Engineering.Was part of the 2.0 Release of Lyve.Build and maintain Base AMI's for use of Services.Script tools as necessary.Cassandra Database maintenance and administration on AWS.Work with Mesh Services and Data Insights teams.Provide support to whoever needs it within the company.Participate in Dogfood testing providing weekly feedback.

Worked as part of the team to go live with the c1 application (c1.memeo.com) which is a SMB targeted file sync solution.Designed, built and deployed MELD which is a web application that displays build information on each application cluster (development, test, staging and production).Provided technical escalation support including on-call for any issues with Memeo products.Provided application design input considering both scaling and performance.Built a Nagios and Nagiosgraph monitoring environment. Created custom scripts that plugged into monitoring that allowed Memeo to forecast growth and performance.Worked with Puppet as a configuration management tool.

Contracted doing DevOps work with a talented group of people.Set up monitoring and configuration management tools.Assisted companies with issues they were not able to solve in house providing analysis and documentation for a clear trouble free path forward.

Migrated web based application from old version of OS to new. I set up the new servers and compiled the required Open Source code from source onto the new Solaris systems. I edited code as necessary to get the new applications running on the new platform working with other developers and team members.Designed, built, deployed and documented authenticated web page systems for build and deployment of Java code into development, test and production Glassfish servers.

Built new Solaris 10 and RHEL 5 servers replacing an aged server system.Scripted and coded monitoring software to achieve pro-active monitoring that allowed SLA uptime requirements to be met and exceeded.Built scripts and tools as necessary to assist in day to day work.Contributed to ZFS boot server deployment using tools like Jumpstart.Provided on the job training to other Unix Administrators in the team.Was part of the SAN migration project.Worked with the Security Engineer to meet best practices on all systems.

Worked as a leader within the Operations team.Developed C code to interact with the Solaris 8 OS to change passwords for accounts that accessed systems via web pages and not via UNIX accounts yet used the UNIX password system for authentication.Worked as part of the team that integrated the Department of Mines and the Department of Natural Resources Queensland. (Datacenters and systems)Wrote scripts and tools to assist in day to day work as necessary.
