Harderwijk was van 1648 tot 1811, dus gedurende ruim 160 jaar, de enige universiteitsstad in Gelderland waar men kon afstuderen. De Stichting Gelderse Academie heeft onder meer ten doel wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen aan de orde te stellen, door het organiseren van lezingen/ cursorisch onderwijs/studium generale en door het culturele aanbod te versterken op de Noord Veluwe.Daarnaast is de Stichting aan het verkennen of hoger en wetenschappelijk onderwijs en onderzoek weer een plaats kan krijgen op de Noord-Veluwe; dit in het licht van drie sterke pijlers: Zorg (als primaat) en daarnaast Groen (landbouw, veeteelt, bosbouw enz.) en Technologie. In combinatie levert dit nieuwe beroepen op zoals bijvoorbeeld Human Technology (Zorg en Techniek). Naar meer van die combinaties zijn we op zoek. Het uiteindelijk resultaat moet een bijdrage leveren aan geoptimaliseerde en moderne zorg op de Noord-Veluwe met een landelijke uitstraling. Uitgaand van nieuwe beroepen zal ook nieuw onderwijs (al dan niet privaat ) gestalte moeten krijgen. St Mary's Hospital in Drobo Ghana has a partnership with St Jansdal Hospital Harderwijk the Netherlands. Fundraising is performed by "Stichting Vrienden van St Mary's Hospital".One of our major projects is the founding of an eye clinic as major goal for the hospital. very sad to have discovered that the 3 remaining board members have a private commercial goal and do not follow the foundation rules.
