As part of the Software Architecture Team within the UK Digital Engineering Division I fulfil the role of Software Architect. My duties include the definition and promotion of architecture and software development standards and practices for mobile development within Aviva. This governance role requires me to work with mobile development teams to ensure the highest standards of software architecture and development are maintained. This role has allowed me to work in the following areas,Working with mobile development teams to produce an architecture for a mobile platform to promote best practices and facilitate the deployment of multiple apps using Xamarin.Responsible for building a REST API suite of 80+ endpoints to support mobile app functionality using .NET Core and including infrastructure utilising both AWS and Azure. This also included overseeing the migration to a containerised architecture.Responsible for overall solution design for the company’s mobile platform.Developing an internal framework to streamline the adoption of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) using firstly Xamarin Test Cloud before migrating to Appium.Developing an internal framework to support the running of “headless” app integration tests.Building a highly configurable and extensible Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure utilising AzureDevOps for a both mobile app and API codebases.

As part of the Architecture Team, my duties included the design, documentation and prototyping of architecture to meet the company's long term goals. Working with the development team I had input into all levels of software design, working closely with developers to communicate high level designs and ensure an effective implementation.
