Head-hunted to be first ever Design Systems Technician working with BIM Management team to streamline BIM workflow and assist Architects as company fully transitions into BIM era.Worked on confidential masterplan project in high-profile unspecified location - a veritable "City of the Future". Responsibilities included: setting project up in Revit 2019 from scratch; generating site sections; providing Revit support to team of 25+ architects; generating detailed parametric leasing plans shared with stakeholders, liaising/meeting with Partners, Senior Executive Partners and [on a few occasions] company-founder Norman Foster; generating and presenting VR tours; concept design for simpler buildings in scheme, generating Revit families, geometry conversion from Rhino to Revit.Was chosen to represent Foster + Partners as tour guide for Stirling Prize-winning Bloomberg Headquarters in London during 2018 Open House.Worked for short time on Oceanwide Center (https://bit.ly/2UwG9cE)Worked on part of a highly confidential multi-billion pound development in London; headquarters for large multinational Blue-Chip. Responsibilities included: supervising and maintaining all of project’s Revit models and BIM workflow; training and supporting architects using Revit; designing and adjusting complex parametric Revit families; daily/weekly document control; solving/simplifying complex issues using BIM solutions; generating quality architectural visualisations in still/video form using Enscape; liaising with in-house Specialist Modelling Group to produce complex material and lighting studies; liaising with external motion-graphics designer to create an animated video of a complex ventilation scheme; creating flythrough videos using Enscape and Adobe After Effects; batch-exporting files for issuance; liaising with consultants.Was previously working on about ten international, ultra high-end and highly confidential projects for a large multinational Blue-Chip company.

-Working closely alongside Senior Architect on designs for key part of new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre near Loughborough, UK - 3D design of all required elements in Revit - 2D construction details at down to 1:5 in Revit - creating bespoke Families/Components in Revit - creation of 3D graphics and renders in Revit - generation and compilation of Revit-sheets to display plans, sections, elevations and details ready to send to site - other related tasks on AutoCAD when needed - work-sharing using both a local Revit-server and Conisio software

I was hired as the sole architectural designer of a 5-bedroom residential development (119 Bretton Ave, Littleover, Derby, UK).-I met with and developed/refined the scheme with the clients, identifying their needs, sketching ideas for them in real time and addressing their concerns in clear, jargon-free language. This taught me how to hold my own in a meeting and build a friendly, professional relationship with clients.-I successfully negotiated a higher fee than they had originally proposed (+60%) which I knew was was fair and proportional to the work requested. Upon completion, I also sent the clients a professional invoice and gentle reminders from time to time until my fee was transferred. This taught me about correct financial protocols, and the importance of being bold but not over-bearing at the negotiation table.-I liaised with the planning officers and contractors (on the phone and via email) throughout the process to refine the drawings and provide any additional information. The scheme won planning permission, and is now in the final phases of construction (evidence available upon request). This taught me about the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration, professional communication etiquette and job satisfaction - it was a wonderful experience to visit the site and feel a sense of ownership walking through "my" building when it was under construction.-I provided a full set of CAD drawings using BIM software (Revit) in a timely manner, Before this project, my knowledge of Revit was negligible, and I was daunted by the complexity and power of the software. This commission helped me develop my persistence and grit by forcing me to spend hours watching Revit tutorials on YouTube tutorials and practising with the software until I knew how to use it.

Bluewater Shopping Centre

-I was hired at the first ever Rockar Store - a revolutionary company which has gone to expand and take off.-I assisted with the sale of new Hyundai cars to online and in-store consumers by: being an expert on the large product range, booking test drives, putting through orders (of up to £20, 000), cleaning cars, booking services, valuing trade-in vehicles and undertaking home deliveries and many out-of-store errands using company vehicles. I learned how to gain the trust of and build instant rapport with strangers, how to work in a fledgling retail team with ever-changing protocols and people, and how to make time count by using the spaces in-between errands to be effective.-I asked to be part of the Grand Opening of Rockar's second store in Stratford (with the company CEO, the Head of Hyundai UK and the press present) where I put through the very first order. I learned to work and be at ease in the presence of the public-eye and high-powered people-I was assigned to create the monthly “Competitor Newsletter” about the offerings of other brands for the use of the whole company. I learned to research, read and condense information, write concisely and frame the text with visually digestible graphics. I also learned to take editorial criticism from my managers and adjust my work accordingly (examples available upon request).-I was photographed and video-recorded as part of the Rockar advertisement campaign. Along with my other work, I learned from this that being the face of a company is no small thing, and that I played a vital part in perpetuating the company culture of helping people become “Car-Happy” without fuss - having been hired for my personality (see https://www.rockar.com/about-rockar).
