CAREEROver the past few years, the Tourism Industry suffered a massive hit. I have had the privilege of being on the ground and heavily involved in rebuilding the team at one of our country's premier tourist icons. We came back online with less than 50% of our team still with us, so my focus has been on recruitment and training, and then managing an amazing team that provides the highest standard of customer experience in the industry. After a crazy 2 years, we are now back up to speed and my focus has shifted to internal development and training along with the mentoring of our emerging leaders. I also have recent and extensive experience in rostering and Workforce Management for complex business units ranging from 100 to 1500 people. Prior to this I successfully built and managed a private real estate investment business. Starting with a relatively small amount of seed money, it is now a substantial multi-property, going concern that is profitable and self-sustaining. In that time, I gained valuable experience in sourcing and managing relevant investors/financiers as well as developing numerous industry contacts in key roles within our community. I have learnt to deal with multiple professionals, contractors and stakeholders in parallel and aid them in focusing on working productively towards a goal. I continue to maintain and manage this business remotely.Before starting my own business I worked in the service industry for 9 years with progressively responsible experience in frontline service, marketing and operations management. My most recent role was to take a start up specialty food & beverage company and turn it into a sustainable going concern ready for sale. When I started, the business was struggling to find its place in the market and was operating at a significant loss. In the two years I was with them I implemented systems and service practices that significantly improved efficiency, developed brand awareness and increased loyalty resulting in higher sales and revenue. When I left the business had stabilized, and the owners had an offer from a potential buyer.EDUCATION & ACHIEVEMENTSI have a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Australia majoring in Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality Management. I graduated university with distinction and received the “Top Student Award” for my degree. I also received the Tourism Minister’s Student Achiever Award from Tourism New South Wales.I also have a diploma of Hospitality Management and a diploma of Events Management from Kenvale College of Hospitality Management.
