Funded assistant in coral reef bioacoustics research in Indonesia working to determine how soundscapes can be used to indicate reef health and diversity. This was part of a long term coral reef recovery project funded by Mars using a novel technology to restore Indonesian reefs.

A six week internship with the universities Cetacean Ecology and Acoustics Lab assisting two PhD students with dolphin recordings analysis and some field work data collection.

Elected as president to head the 12 strong committee in a record year of the societies membership (300). We organised numerous social events at home and abroad independently and in collaboration with other societies as well as organising careers opportunities and extra curricular days with local organisations, and supporting fellow bioscience students.

I was awarded the OpWall grant for Outstanding field ecologists and the UoE Claire Nunn travel prize to undertake a month long expedition in Indonesia with OpWall. I was trained in coral reef ecology and monitoring as well as SCUBA and was given the opportunity to assist researchers and the reef monitoring team on Hoga Island.

Out project focused on identifying local business that could benefit from investment to help them capitalise off an Oil and Gas project beginning in the area..
