Patty and Ben met met in Atlanta in 1985 and have lived there and in central Florida until 1999 when they accomplished the dream of living in the mountains. The Woolfs came to real estate from a background of public education and law. Ben, a Boulder Colorado native, served five years as an assistant attorney general for the State of Georgia before moving into public education. Locally, he helped to create and build the Buncombe County Schools drop-out prevention program and joined Patty in real estate in 2007. Patty was born in North Carolina and grew up in Florida, the daughter of 6th generation Floridians. Her passion for the Western NC mountains developed early during family vacations in the Smokies. Patty entered real estate in 2001 from 10 years in public education. The couple has two wonderful children, Joseph and Katie. In addition to their family, both Patty and Ben have a passion for nature and balanced stewardship of WNC’s natural resources, heritage, and bio-diversity.Patty and Ben bring to their real estate career strong communication skills, flexibility, and creative problem solving. These skills help the Woolf Team connect with their clients and be able to uniquely assess and address each buyer and seller’s real estate goals. I developed and implemented a successful dropout prevention program for the middle and high schools of the Buncombe County School system.

Deland, Florida

I initially taught exceptional student education and social studies at Spruce Creek and DeLand High Schools. From 1995 through 1999 I taught U.S. History for the International Baccalaureate program at DeLand High School.

Atlanta, Georgia

I represented the State of Georgia in post-conviction habeas corpus and capital felony cases before the Georgia trial and Supreme Courts, the Federal District and Appellate Courts, and in the United States Supreme Court. Responsible for the preparation of Appellant's briefs for direct review to the Georgia Supreme Court and to the United States Supreme Court. Accountable for all aspects of state habeas corpus litigation: preparation of cases for trial, the conduct of hearings at the trial level, the presentation of proposed final orders in the Georgia Superior Courts, and the filing of briefs and oral arguments in appeals before the Georgia Supreme Court. Responsible for the preparation of briefs and the presentation of oral arguments on behalf of the State in all appeals of capital felony (death penalty and non-death penalty murder cases) before the Georgia and United States Supreme Courts, with over 140 reported decisions in Georgia. Developed a precedent-setting argument before the Georgia Supreme Court concerning the admissibility of DNA evidence for prosecution.
