I was employed by Luxottica Group for two years and studied the strengths and weaknesses of the latest design trends. Luxottica is presently responsible for over twenty designer eyewear brands such as DKNY, Prada, Ray Ban, Versace, Vogue and Burberry to name a few. As a Certified Lab Technician at Lenscrafters I worked as part of a team that strives to manufacture Polycarbonate lenses to ANSI standards under strict time constraints. Working in a lab/manufacturing environment has taught me the importance of maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

As a senior Industrial Design student at Arizona State University I was one of nine design students selected to participate in a collaborative team called Innovation Space (http://www.innovationspace.org/). While participating in Innovation Space I worked with engineers, graphic designers, and business marketing students to research and create a technology based product for our sponsor, Intel. My team worked with professionals at Intel to create a product and a platform called Nutricist that will sustain the health and wellness of the baby-boomer generation as they age. This year long class has taught me the importance of collaboration and taking the initiative while working as a team member to find the best possible solution to a given problem. I have also learned the importance of time management and balancing a budget.

In the summer of 2007 I participated in a three month internship at Bush Industries Furniture in Jamestown, New York. My experiences at Bush Industries provided me with knowledge of design and manufacturing methods as well as an understanding of designing for a very specific price point. I participated in many company meetings regarding trend reports, ecological design strategies and engineering standards. My fellow interns and I met weekly with each of the nine executives to learn the inner workings of a major corporation. I was taught about global supply chain management, future manufacturing technologies along with the overall business plan of the company.

I was responsible for overseeing the transfer of 2D CAD models to a CNC foam cutting machine. I was quickly elevated to a leadership role where I was given company keys and trained new employees. I also worked with customers to ensure product quality and standards.
