He was born in Ankara . He completed primary, secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College. After graduating from Nuclear Engineering Department of Hacettepe University, he worked as a research assistant in the same department for one year. He went to U.S. for graduate studies. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Tennessee, Nuclear Engineering Department. During his Master's and Doctoral studies he took part in research studies at Oak Ridge National Nuclear Laboratory. Shortly after his return to Turkey, he worked as a project manager in KOÇ-UNISYS for a brief period of time. He received a post-doctoral research fellowship from Japan Science and Technology Agency and went to Japan to carry out research work in nuclear criticality safety. He returned back to Turkey. After his completion of military service, he started working under METU-KOSGEB Technology Development Center. He joined the Nuclear Power Plants Division of Electricity Generation Company of Turkey to take part in the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant project . He was responsible from Nuclear safety and licensing evaluation of the tenders. He worked in several different departments of the company. He is currently working on developing Decision Support Systems, Energy Efficiency, Development of a Research & Development System for EÜAŞ and InHouse Development of Automation Systems Solutions.
