Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to work in a field that made a positive impact on the world. Science and math have always fascinated me, which led me right into engineering. Throughout my time as an undergraduate research assistant, I’ve realized that I’d like to try to make my impact through research. Working in different labs at different universities in different disciplines has been an enriching experience that has allowed me to become a more well-rounded researcher and person. I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and creativity in working towards a common research goal. As Aristotle said, “the whole is better than the sum of its parts.”I’m an undergraduate student at the University of Kansas entering my 4th year studying Chemical Engineering looking to pursue a career in research, working on the edge of science in hope of expanding our knowledge of the universe.I’m still early in my academic journey and am looking forward to learning more about the phenomena that govern Chemical Engineering. I have a passion for science and engineering and am excited to work with other people on solving various problems across different disciplines to try to make the world a better place.
