Senior Business Consultant
Ben Baenen is a Senior Consultant in the Operations Excellence Practice. He has executed multiple operational process analyses to help clients identify current state failures and opportunities for increased efficiency. He has also assisted with key Change Management initiatives during the implementation of new processes and core systems. His focus on consensus building skills have contributed to the centralized management of disparate projects, and tighter adherence to project deadlines and quality. Ben’s industry focus thus far includes Healthcare, Manufacturing, Private Equity, Retail Banks, and Energy & Utilities. For almost two years, he focused his efforts on large scale business transformation project in the Healthcare/Insurance industry. At the client, Ben partnered with key business managers to execute the analysis, re-engineering, and communication of the critical operational processes. His focus was on key business processes, documentation and validation of business requirements, web portal & system user experience enhancements & mapping, and core system security. The successful transformation project reduced the core business processes by 40 percent via standardization, increased auto-adjudication rates across the enterprise (1.2 million claims per month), reduced headcount by utilization optical character recognition technology, and achieved paperless workflow for claims processing. Ben has also worked with numerous manufacturing organizations, working on the strategic analysis of large transformation initiatives, including simplifying the core product base, standardizing common processes across their manufacturing operations, and introducing new technology in the facility. His last engagement was managing a full review of a large dental payer's Sales-to-Setup processes and identifying over 150 unique pain points, which were turned into 9 distinct business initiatives (prioritized by business need, cost, and timeline).
