Managed a 350-person research and development team, a marketing team, and a product management organization. Responsible for a $100M+ annual operating budget Secured twenty-two initial, multi-million dollar “Lighthouse" accounts, including promoting these accounts to the media, industry analysts, and customers. Some of the initial accounts were: Wal-Mart, Rabobank (Netherlands), 3M, Canon (Japan), KDDI (Japan), U.S. Foods, Walt Disney, Bon-Ton and Woolworths (Australia).

Recruited to Intraspect to execute the board-approved operating plan focusing on becoming profitable and developing strategic relationships that would lead to a merger/acquisition with a larger company. Acquired By Vignette.

Sagent customers included: United Healthcare, Microsoft, Qwest, and Boeing Employees Credit Union. Recruited by the Board of Directors to scale the company, but within two months, it became clear that the company had serious issues in cash and financial management, indirect and direct sales, customer support, and marketing. It became necessary to significantly downsize the company without losing key software talent and yet enabling the company to weather the extended downturn in technology spending. Acquired By Group 1 Software.

Created IBM’s first Solution Organization, the Global Business Intelligence Solutions Division (GBIS), an entrepreneurial unit that helped initiate IBM’s strategic move into business analytics and optimization. Created, and recruited the team and managed GBIS – a billion-dollar organization within IBM. From a small team with no prior revenues had within four years grew the organization to over 1,400 people and over $1 Billion in annual worldwide revenues. With an additional $3B in revenues through out other IBM Divisions.

Joined Teradata prior to the IPO and remained thru the sale to NCR. Built Teradata's marketing and sales support organization from a staff of five professionals to over sixty. Managed a budget of over $10 million dollars annually.Successfully created the product vision, pricing, positioning and sales support for Teradata's massively parallel supercomputer.
