About Ben Bayer

Ben started his illustrious career in the US Army battling the furious hordes of red tape in the battalion personnel office, afterwards receiving his B.A. from Emory University in Classics. He's studied abroad in Greece and Israel, and has learned to read 4 dead languages. He's still working on his English. In answer to the ubiquitous question, "what do you plan on doing with a Classics degree?", Ben traveled for 6 months around the world finally landing back in Atlanta to become the program coordinator for the Health Sciences Humanities and Psychoanalytic Studies Programs at Emory, working with Dr. Sander Gilman. In 2007 on a whim, Ben applied to this small tech company named Google and, 12 interviews and 6 months later, he miraculously persuaded them to hire him. He spent 3.5 years at the headquarters in Mountain View as Master of Space and Time and 3 years in NYC as Master of the Multiverse. He then moved to sunny Boulder, Colorado to become the Chief of Stuff for the Boulder office, working with local partners and trying to keep the engineers from revolting. Despite his efforts, many of them were still revolting.Ben is a creative--and some might say humorous--writer and as organized and efficient as a Swiss watch wound by a German train conductor. He's been officially recognized over 65 times by peers and managers for work performed and has trained hundreds of coworkers on email productivity and efficiency, interviewing, and various corporate tools. He's so good at this that some have even gone so far as to call him a corporate tool himself. He has a healthy skepticism of conventionality and is a big believer in "if it ain't broke, keep playing with it until it is and then go grab the gorilla glue and duct tape."Ben is now living the dream in Boulder, CO. He calls himself actively retired and is applying some of his copious skills to the humble task of saving the world while learning everything he can about everything.

Listed skills include Event Planning, Program Management, Public Speaking, Leadership, and 18 others.
