About Benjamin Beese
Benjamin is a PhD student studying modern European intellectual and cultural history. He researches the apparent possibility (or impossibility) of social change in 19th- and 20th-century Europe. His research interests include critical theory and the Frankfurt School, European socialist movements, and theories of modernity.He holds a BA in History from Middlebury College and an MA in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Ohio State University. His research has been supported by Ohio State University’s Henry Kratz Jr. Summer Research Fellowship at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin and Middlebury College’s Kellogg Fellowship.In addition to his academic work, Benjamin supports education for sustainable development and intercultural competence as a graduate student instructor and a volunteer with the World Organization of the Scouting Movement.
